Navi Mumbai: MC Intends to Provide Charging Stations for EVs Across City

A Tender has been floated by The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) to appoint a contractor to set up electric charging stations for Electrical Vehicles (EVs) across the city. It will be on a Build, Own, and Operate Basis, i.e. BOO. Every ward will have a sufficient number of EV charging stations thanks to the civic body's plans.

People are shifting towards eco-friendly electric vehicles following the continuous price hike in fuels.  Maharashtra is one of the states to come up with the EV Policy First.

Yet, many people have postponed their plans to purchase electric vehicles because of the scarcity of charging facilities.

“The Request for Proposal has been floated for 24 public charging stations,” said an official involved in the project. He added that 143 different spots across the NMMC have been chosen to have dual gun charging stations/ EVSEs installed. These locations are separated into 24 clusters, with 6 electric vehicle charging stations in each cluster (EVSEs).
