NIA Conducts Searches Across Four States in Terrorist-Gangster Nexus Case

On Tuesday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted extensive raids across 3 states Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

The raids at around 30 locations, were a part of the terrorist-gangster nexus case investigation, carried out in collaboration with state police forces, targeted locations linked to suspects identified during previous interrogations. The operation, initiated based on specific inputs, is focused on gathering crucial evidence related to the case.

Since the NIA's investigations have revealed the involvement of foreign elements, including those in Pakistan and Canada, as well as leaders of organized terror syndicates operating out of Indian prisons, the agency has been implementing targeted tactics in recent months to disrupt and dismantle terrorist and mafia networks and their support systems. A representative for the NIA said that this includes attaching and seizing assets connected to the "proceeds of terrorism."

NIA raids across India

In February of this year, the NIA carried out searches at numerous sites in Punjab and Rajasthan as part of its investigation into pro-Khalistan elements and organised criminal syndicates.

The NIA is investigating the activities of various banned terrorist organisations and criminal gangs operating both domestically and internationally.
