Namibia Battles Historic Drought by Culling Elephants and Hippos for Food

Did You Know? Namibia is facing the worst drought of the century, and as a result, plans to cull 723 wild animals — including 83 elephants, 30 hippos, 60 buffalos, and 300 zebras.

This tragic decision aims to supply meat to 1.4 million people affected by the drought. So far, over 150 animals have been killed, resulting in 63 tons of meat. In a bid to save wildlife, Anant Ambani's Vantara Foundation has proposed an alternative solution to the Namibian government.
