A massive tragedy has devastated a family in Baman village, Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh.
On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, Rupa Bai (60) and her daughter-in-law, Pinki Bai (30) – family members of local Janpad member Mukesh Dangi – were inspecting renovation work at an agricultural well when the unstable, water-soaked earth suddenly gave way.
The collapse sent both women plunging into the 25-foot-deep pit, followed by a massive mound of soil and debris that buried them instantly.
A large-scale rescue operation involving local administration and multiple earth-moving machines lasted over seven hours, but despite the tireless efforts of rescuers, the victims could not be saved.
This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the extreme dangers associated with excavation and construction sites.
Our deepest condolences go out to the Dangi family during this incredibly painful time.
May their souls rest in peace.
