The Government of Mizoram has decided to internally seek the help of the public to raise funds for the people who are displaced from Manipur to Mizoram, due to the imploding Manipur violence. Mizoram’s Home Secretary has told ZoramChronicle, that this fundraising is very crucial, as they have not received even the most basic support for the refugees and have also not received any financial aid from the centre even after continuous requisitions.
The fundraiser is to be started officially today, July 3rd 2023. This starts with seeking financial support from the senior officials, Ministers and MLAs. The Home Secretary also mentioned that they are expecting the finance department of the state to receive some funds.
