Meri Maati Mera Desh: Saluting Our Nation's Heroes on Oct 30

The 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' (MMMD) campaign is now in its final phase, marked by the Amrit Kalash Yatras happening nationwide.

This expansive initiative seeks to connect with every household in the country.

Various ministries, state governments, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Zonal Cultural Centers, Central Armed Police Forces, Indian Post, Miety, and Coal, have joined hands to collect soil from households at village and block levels.

This collaborative endeavour demonstrates a deep commitment to community service and nation-building.

Cultural Programs and Mass Participation

The Ministry of Culture's zonal culture centers is taking the lead in organizing cultural programs in rural areas across India to raise awareness about the MMMD campaign. To date, over 4,419 blocks have already organized the MMMD program, and the participation of the masses has been overwhelming.

Honouring the 'Veers'

The nationwide 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign was launched on August 9, 2023, as a tribute to the courageous individuals known as 'Veers' who sacrificed their lives for the nation. This campaign marks the culmination of the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,' which began on March 12, 2021, and involved extensive public engagement through the organization of over 200,000 programs throughout India.

Impressive Achievements

The initial phase of the MMMD campaign has seen remarkable success, with widespread outreach and significant public involvement. Over 233,000 Shilaphalakams have been constructed across 36 States/Union Territories. Additionally, nearly 40 million selfies with the Panch Pran pledge have been uploaded to the campaign's website. The campaign has also organized more than 200,000 felicitation programs to honour Bravehearts nationwide. Under the Vasudha Vandan theme, more than 236 million indigenous saplings have been planted, and 263,000 Amrit Vatikas have been created.

Grand Culmination at Kartavya Path

The Amrit Kalash Yatras will reach their grand finale at Kartavya Path on October 30th and 31st, 2023. During this monumental event, a Kalash symbolizing the unity and diversity of the nation will be filled with soil collected from every corner of the country. It will be ceremoniously placed in the Amrit Vatika and Amrit Mahotsav Memorial. This extraordinary celebration will feature vibrant cultural programs and captivating light and sound shows, providing attendees with a rich sensory experience. Specially curated experience zones will enable participants to connect deeply with the essence of this historic campaign, honouring the collective spirit of the nation and leaving a lasting legacy for the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
