Mayor Launches 'Ab Dilli Hogi Saaf' Campaign to Get Delhi Cleaner

As part of the 'Ab Dilli Hogi Saaf' campaign, which was started by the AAP-led MCD, Mayor Shelly Oberoi said on Friday that all garbage piles on the city's streets will be cleaned up over the next week. Under this, 158 places in 12 municipal zones that are exposed to garbage have been found.

Oberoi said that the MCD plans to add more trash collection tools like rickshaws and battery dumpers. Additionally, he stated that cleaning of the points would take place by the first week of October. Under the plan, there are 22 points in the Civil Lines zone, 13 in the Karol Bagh zone, and 10 in each of the Shahdara North, Najafgarh, Narela, Keshav Puram, West, and South zones. Rohini has the most of these points—37—of anyone else.

Deputy Mayor Aaley Iqbal said that the biggest problem in Delhi is the amount of trash on the streets. Raja Iqbal Singh of the BJP said, "AAP is patting themselves on the back by changing the names of the programmes that the BJP was running."
