Massive road accident in Rajasthan leaves 11 dead, 15 injured

This morning at an appoximate time of 04:30 a.m., a tragic accident occured on the Jaipur-Agra Highway near Hantra village in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district. A trailer collided with an immobile bus carrying passengers from Gujarat's Bhavnagar to Uttar Pradesh's Mathura. The bus was halted for repairs on the highway when the collision happened. The accident resulted in 12 fatalities and 11 injuries.

The injured were taken to RBM Hospital in Bharatpur, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved payments of ₹2 lakhs each to the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 each for the injured. The Chief Ministers of Rajasthan and Gujarat, Ashok Gehlot and Bhupendra Patel, expressed condolences.

The victims were pilgrims on a religious journey, part of a group of 57 pilgrims from Gujarat's Bhavnagar district. They were headed towards Delhi and were en route to Mathura when the tragic accident occurred.

The authorities are coordinating efforts to provide medical treatment to the injured and ensure the deceased are returned to their families in Gujarat. The accident has deeply saddened both the Rajasthan and Gujarat governments, with officials from both states actively engaged in assisting the victims and their families. The pilgrims, who were on a religious journey, were part of a close-knit community from Gujarat, and efforts are underway to contact and support their grieving family members.
