A massive fire engulfed a three-storey commercial building on Usha Mehta Marg in Aliganj, Lucknow, on June 21, 2026.

The tragedy resulted in 15 deaths and several injuries, with many students forced to jump from the building to escape the flames.

While a short circuit is suspected, a formal inquiry is underway to investigate the safety lapses that led to this catastrophic loss of life.
