The seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha election 2024 is underway, marking the conclusion of the world's largest polling marathon that began on April 19.
Voting Details
Voting will be held for 57 parliamentary constituencies across eight states and Union Territories, including Bihar, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. Additionally, 42 Assembly constituencies in Odisha will also vote simultaneously.
Voter and Polling Details: Approximately 10.06 crore electors, including 5.24 crore males, 4.82 crore females, and 3,574 third-gender voters, will vote at over 1.09 lakh polling stations, facilitated by around 10.9 lakh polling officials.
Special Provisions: Home Voting facilities are available for voters aged 85 and older and those with disabilities. Special trains and helicopter sorties have been deployed to ensure polling personnel and materials reach their destinations.
Security and Monitoring: A robust security and surveillance system, including 172 observers, 2,707 flying squads, 2,799 static surveillance teams, 1,080 surveillance teams, and 560 video viewing teams, is in place. Additionally, 201 international border check posts and 906 inter-state border check posts are monitoring illicit activities.
Appeal for Participation: The Election Commission has encouraged voters to participate actively and responsibly in the final phase, despite hot weather conditions.

• Canning : Clashes Between TMC and BJP Supporters: Supporters from both parties clashed at Itkhola Gram Panchayat, resulting in stone pelting. Media personnel were injured during the incident.
• Kultali: Looting of Election Material: Before voting began, a mob looted reserve EVMs and other materials near Benimadhavpur FP School. They threw 1 CU, 1 BU, and 2 VVPAT machines into a pond. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of West Bengal confirmed that an FIR was lodged and fresh EVMs were supplied to ensure polling continued.
• Voter Safety Concerns: Women in Kultali demanded a police camp for safety and the replacement of EVM machines before voting.
