Tragedy at Jhansi Station: Man Jumps on Train Engine, Burnt Alive

A man was electrocuted after leaping onto the engine of a Goa-bound train at Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi railway station on Friday, according to railway officials. The tragic incident occurred when the man came into contact with the engine’s live overhead electrical cable, resulting in severe burns and his subsequent death.

Visuals from the scene revealed the man jumping from the tin shed above the platform onto the train engine as the 12780 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Vasco Da Gama Express entered Platform 1. The individual’s actions left bystanders and railway personnel shocked.

Train Halted for 45 Minutes

Following the incident, operations at the station were disrupted, with the train halted for nearly 45 minutes. Railway Police and officials worked to retrieve the victim’s body, which was severely charred. The recovery process was initiated after shutting down the overhead electrical line.

Victim Yet to Be Identified

Circle Officer of Railway Police, Naeem Mansuri, stated that the victim, believed to be aged between 40 and 45, remains unidentified. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigations are underway.
