Jaipur's 'Lady Don' nabbed by Rajasthan police in Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi Murder Case

In Jaipur, Rajasthan Police arrested Pooja Saini, a ‘lady don’, associated with a criminal network, in connection with the murder of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.

Pooja Saini had the responsibility of managing the affairs of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Rohit Godara in Rajasthan. Before the incident, her role included providing weapons and offering financial assistance. Additionally, she was accountable for retrieving weapons post-incident.

Residing in Jaipur with a young man, Pooja lived under a false identity. From her possession, the police confiscated multiple fake IDs. Currently, the police team is questioning her.

Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph revealed that Pooja Saini and her husband Mahendra Meghwal provided weapons to Fauji, who stayed in their rented flat in Jaipur before carrying out the killing on December 5. Meghwal, also known as Sameer and a history-sheeter of Kota, has fled, as per police reports.

Prior to this, Primary Suspects, two shooters, Nitin Fauji and Rohit Rathore, along with their accomplice Udham Singh, were apprehended in Chandigarh on Saturday night with a collaborative effort between the Delhi Police Crime Branch and the Rajasthan Police. They have been remanded to police custody for seven days by a local court.

Details about the Murder

According to Additional Commissioner of Police Kailash Chandra Bishnoi, Nitin Fauji, the suspect, arrived in Jaipur on November 28 in a taxi and met Mahendra Meghwal. Meghwal then took Fauji to the flat in Jagatpura. It was revealed that through Meghwal, Fauji maintained contact with gangster Rohit Godara, as stated by the police.

Police stated that Meghwal acquired more than half a dozen pistols and cartridges, providing two pistols and magazines for Fauji and one pistol with two magazines for Rathore. Pooja Saini also reportedly prepared food for Fauji.

On the morning of December 5, Meghwal dropped Fauji on Ajmer Road, where Rathore awaited him. The armed duo was transported to Gogamedi's residence through Naveen Shekhawat, a member of the Karni Sena chief. After a brief conversation, the shooters opened fire in Gogamedi's living room, killing him. Shekhawat was also killed before the assailants fled.

Police recovered a photo of an AK-47 rifle from Meghwal flat, indicating a Lawrence Bishnoi gang network. During the investigation, it was revealed that the couple provided weapons for the crime committed by the gang in Jaipur.

The commissioner also disclosed that on November 9, Nitin Fauji and associates attacked Mahendragarh Police Station Sadar and subsequently went into hiding. During this period, Nitin Fauji sent his friend Ramveer to Jaipur on November 19. A confrontation with the police at Gogamedi's residence led to the killing of assailant Naveen Shekhawat, while one of Gogamedi's security guards was injured in the crossfire.

The murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi has raised allegations that the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief had sought security for two years without assistance from the Congress government. Karni Sena leader Mahipal Singh has declared that no oath-taking ceremony will occur in the state until Gogamedi's killers are brought to justice.
