Indian Navy successfully tests BrahMos missile in the Arabian Sea

A senior military official stated that the Indian Navy carried out a precise strike in the Arabian Sea using a BrahMos missile launched from a ship, which had an indigenous seeker and booster developed by DRDO. This successful strike emphasizes India's commitment to self-reliance in defence. BrahMos Aerospace Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between India and Russia, manufactures supersonic cruise missiles that can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft, or land platforms. The missile has a speed of 2.8 Mach, which is nearly three times the speed of sound. The Indian Navy and the Andaman and Nicobar Command jointly conducted a successful test firing of the anti-ship version of this missile in April last year. Additionally, India has been exporting BrahMos missiles. In January last year, the Philippines agreed to purchase three batteries of the missile for a total of USD 375 million.
