“Adding arrogance to wrongdoing” — this proverb is quite popular in our country, India, and it is used when someone, despite committing a crime or mistake, neither accepts their fault nor feels any fear. An incident that took place in our country’s second-largest state, Madhya Pradesh, is proving to be a clear example of this saying. In the Karera police station area of Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi’s son, Dinesh Lodhi, hit five people with a Thar vehicle. The police have registered a case against the accused driver and started an investigation. However, now this matter has turned into a high-voltage drama between the power and the administration. Initially, the MLA, while calling “the public supreme” on Facebook, talked about justice, but soon his tone changed. He openly threatened Karera SDOP Ayush Jakhad, saying that his son will not only return but will also contest elections.
“MLA” was written on the Thar
Pritam Lodhi said that what the SDOP of Karera has said is absolutely unacceptable to him. He said that the officer had warned his son not to be seen here again. He said, I want to ask the SDOP, is Karera your father’s area? Generally, I do not say such things, but now I want to make it clear. My son will return to Karera and will contest the elections. If your father has the courage, then try to stop him. He further said that he wants the SDOP to also look at their history. If you put false allegations on us, exert undue pressure, or conduct a biased investigation, then we will not tolerate it and will give a befitting reply. I want to tell such officers to stay within their limits, stay within their jurisdiction. According to the police, the Thar vehicle that caused the accident had “MLA” written on it, and the vehicle was allegedly being driven by Dinesh Lodhi. Karera police station in-charge Vinod Chhawai said that the incident took place around 7:30 in the morning on April 16. He said that according to initial information, Sanjay Parihar, along with his companions Ashish Parihar and Anshul Parihar, was going to Dhanra village for labour work on a motorcycle when a Thar coming from behind hit their motorcycle, due to which all three youths fell on the road. He said that after this, the vehicle also hit pedestrians Sita Verma and Pooja Soni.
Victims were badly injured
In the accident, Sanjay Parihar suffered serious injuries to his hands, legs and head, while Sita Verma and Pooja Soni suffered injuries to their waist, shoulders and head. Chhawai said that in the statements of the injured and preliminary information, it has come out that “MLA” was written on the Thar, and the vehicle was being driven by Dinesh Lodhi. The officer said that a case has been registered against the accused Dinesh Lodhi under the sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Earlier had appealed for a fair investigation
After the accident, on social media, MLA Pritam Lodhi, without defending his son, had appealed to the police for fair action. He had posted on “X” saying that for an MLA, neither son nor family is bigger, the public is supreme, and the victims should get justice.
