Railway Workers Plan Mock Train Accident Near Gujarat

Police Arrest Three Railway Staff for a Conspiracy to Stage a Train Derailment near Kim railway station in Surat district, Gujarat. The trio allegedly had removed some key parts of the track to claim credit for averting a train accident. According to reports, the event has been stated to have taken place on 21st September and was stopped just in time.

Police Uncover Conspiracy

The investigation unearthed that the three detained employees-Subhash Podar, Manish Mistry, and Shubham Jayswal-had planned to remove fishplates and screws from rails and then put them back after recording their mischief on camera. It was meant as a demand for appreciation, incentives, and more conducive working hours. Result: Podar himself went and informed the concerned department about the "hazard" by clicking photographs of the vandalized tracks.

Cunning Cover-Up Foiled by Timing

The plot supposedly unraveled when officers investigated the workers' phones and found pictures and videos of the tampered track. The timeline of these files wasn't in line with the one the accused gave, which added to the suspicion. Between 2 am to 5 am, the workers filmed the sabotage; however, they only informed after 5 am, just before the Garib Rath train was due to pass.
