In a devastating accident early Wednesday morning, at least 11 people lost their lives, including seven children, when a passenger pick-up van collided with a stationary trailer truck in Rajasthan’s Dausa district. Accident Details and Circumstances

According to Dausa Superintendent of Police Sagar, the accident occurred on the Manoharpur highway between 4:00 and 5:00 AM. The passengers in the pick-up vehicle were returning to their village in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh after visiting the famous Khatu Shyam and Salasar Balaji temples, which are popular pilgrimage sites.

The pick-up van reportedly rammed into a stationary trailer truck parked in the service lane of the highway. At the time of the collision, there were 20 people on board the pick-up vehicle. Tragically, seven children and four women were among those killed in the crash.

Casualties and Injuries

Authorities confirmed that eight people sustained injuries in the accident, with at least one person reported to be in critical condition. Dausa District Collector Devendra Kumar provided further information, stating that three injured individuals were hospitalized immediately, while nine others were referred to higher medical facilities for further treatment.

Initially, District Collector Devendra Kumar reported that ten people had died in the accident. “According to initial reports, 10 people have died in an accident near Bapi. Nine people have been referred for treatment, and three are being treated in the District Hospital. The accident occurred between a passenger pick-up and a trailer truck,” he said, offering early updates on the tragedy.

Response from Authorities

Following the accident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep grief over the loss of lives. He emphasized the need for urgent and proper medical care for the injured. CM Sharma shared his condolences on X, stating:

"The news of loss of life in a horrific road accident in Dausa is extremely tragic. The district administration has been directed to ensure prompt and proper treatment for the injured. May God grant a place at His divine feet to the departed souls and provide speedy recovery to the injured."

The administration has already mobilized resources to provide immediate medical attention and support to the victims and their families.
