Former driver in custody for geologist's murder in Bengaluru

A former driver has been detained in connection with the murder of a senior geologist in Bengaluru, India. The body of Prathima KS was found in her home on Sunday morning. She had been strangled and her throat had been slit.

The suspect, identified as Kiran, was Prathima's driver for four years. He was fired from his job a week ago.

According to police, Kiran confessed to the murder. He said that Prathima had fired him because of an accident involving a new vehicle that had been allotted to her. He said that he went to Prathima's house on Saturday night to plead for his job back. When she refused, he murdered her in a fit of rage.

Kiran is currently in custody and is being interrogated by police.

The murder has shocked the community in Bengaluru. Prathima was a well-respected geologist and a popular member of the community.

Police are still investigating the case and are trying to determine if there are any other suspects.
