On May 26, 2024, Doordarshan Kisan, the government TV channel catering to farmers, is poised to reach yet another significant milestone. After nine years of immense success, the channel has a new look and style. The most exciting addition is the introduction of AI anchors, making Doordarshan Kisan India's first government TV channel to feature AI news presenters.
Introducing AI Anchors: AI Krish and AI Bhoomi
Doordarshan Kisan will be launching two AI anchors, AI Krish and AI Bhoomi. The design of these computer-based news presenters mimics that of humans. They can read the news 24/7 without getting tired or needing breaks. The AI anchors will provide essential information to farmer viewers across all states of India, from Kashmir to Tamil Nadu and Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh. They will cover topics such as agricultural research, trends in agriculture management, weather updates, and government schemes. Additionally, these AI anchors can communicate in fifty languages, both domestic and international.
Objectives of DD Kisan
DD Kisan is India's only TV channel exclusively for farmers, established by the Government of India. On May 26th, 2015, the Government of India founded DD Kisan to inform farmers about weather changes, global and local markets, and other pertinent information. The channel has successfully met these objectives for the past nine years.
