In the recent case against a Swiggy driver, who ran over a dog, injuring it, which led to said dog's death, the Bombay HC has said that dogs aren't human, and so the delivery driver will walk free, and also get ₹20,000 as costs from the state government.
The driver in question was delivering an order when the dog suddenly came in front of said driver's bike, which led to both, driver and dog getting injured.
The dog later died from the injuries and the owner of the dog filed a case against the driver.
After the high-court's statement that dogs aren't humans, the high-court has also ordered that the delivery driver be paid ₹20,000 as damage costs. These costs are to be deducted from the police officers salary who ledged this FIR.
