A disturbing case of alleged molestation, racial abuse, and physical assault involving two women from Northeast India has sparked outrage in the national capital after the victims claimed they were attacked by a group of men outside a club in Delhi’s Nehru Place area during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident, which reportedly unfolded around 5 am on May 11, has once again reignited concerns over the safety of women and repeated allegations of racial discrimination faced by people from the Northeast in metropolitan cities.

According to police officials and statements made by the victims, the women had stepped out for tea after leaving a club in South Delhi when they were allegedly harassed, catcalled, racially abused, and violently assaulted by a group of men. An FIR has since been registered, and Delhi Police said four accused have been identified as the investigation continues.

What Happened Outside the Club

As per the complaint filed with Delhi Police, the two women — both from Northeast India — had gone to a club in Nehru Place on Saturday night. After leaving the venue in the early hours of Sunday, they stopped at a tea stall nearby.

The women also alleged that they were molested during the attack. The complaint further stated that the accused dragged them by their hair, punched and kicked them, and continued assaulting them even after they tried to resist.

One of the victims reportedly sustained injuries to her face and body, while the other complained of severe bruises and trauma following the assault.

Victims Recount “Terrifying” Ordeal

The survivors described the incident as deeply traumatic and said they feared for their lives during the attack.

According to reports, one of the women alleged that the attackers surrounded them near the tea stall and began verbally abusing them before physically assaulting them. She claimed the men repeatedly mocked their appearance and ethnicity while hurling racial slurs.
