A heart-wrenching and horrific crime has shocked the national capital. An 11-year-old girl, who lived with her family on a footpath near Chhattarpur in South Delhi and earned a modest living by selling balloons, was allegedly kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and brutally murdered.

According to the Delhi Police, the accused is an app-based cab driver who was traced and arrested within hours with the help of CCTV footage.

In a dramatic turn of events during the crime scene reconstruction, the accused snatched a service weapon and attempted to flee from police custody.

The police retaliated by shooting him in the leg, and he is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital under strict police supervision. The minor victim's body was tragically recovered from a forested area near Gurugram.
