New Delhi: Despite being behind bars, Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal remains undeterred in exercising his power, as evidenced by his recent directive issued from jail on Sunday. As incarcerated CM Kejriwal was escorted back to the Rouse Avenue court, he asserted, "My life is dedicated to the nation. Whether inside jail or outside, I remain committed."
With a keen eye on civic affairs, the incarcerated CM Kejriwal has directed Water Minister Atishi Marlena in a note to expedite efforts in resolving water scarcity and sewage problems in the National Capital region.
In the note, accessed by Vygr News, Kejriwal wrote, "I have been informed about the water and sewerage shortages in certain areas of Delhi, causing problems for the residents. This concerns me deeply. Despite my current detainment, I am committed to ensuring that the people do not suffer. With summer approaching and the water scarcity worsening, it is imperative to take immediate action. Arrange for an adequate number of water tankers in the affected areas."
"Please instruct the Chief Secretary and other officials to alleviate the public's hardships. Please, ensure that no citizen faces unnecessary inconvenience. If necessary, seek assistance from the Lieutenant Governor; they will undoubtedly lend support," his note reads.
The first order note from the jail was addressed to Delhi education minister and party leader Atishi, she said in New Delhi on Sunday.
Amidst the bustling chaos outside the Rouse Avenue court premises in the ITO area of New Delhi, the arrest of Delhi CM Kejriwal sent shockwaves rippling through the political landscape. The air in Delhi is thick with tension as supporters and opposition parties at the centre gathered. He won't step down following the liquor-gate scam and will continue to exercise power from jail.
At the trial, the Enforcement Directorate termed CM Kejriwal as the kingpin of the liquorgate scam. But there is room for doubt over the arrest just after the election dates are announced. The evidence supporting his allegation is also a subject of scrutiny, think the opposition leaders.

CM Kejriwal's counsel, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, stood resolute, his voice echoing through the crowd, saying how the move of ED is politically motivated by the BJP.
The arrest had ignited a firestorm of debate, with voices from various political camps clamouring to be heard. Singhvi continued, "The arrest will impact free and fair elections. Never in the past 75 years have such events unfolded after poll dates were announced."
