Chennai is all set to host Two-day International Sports Science Conclave 2023

In Chennai, on Tuesday, Minister for youth welfare and sports development, Udhayanidhi Stalin is set to officially open the two-day Tamil Nadu Sports Science International Conclave 2023 (Tascon - 2023), which is being hosted by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu.

Around 250 delegates, comprising scholars in the field of sports science from India, Britain, the Netherlands, Malaysia, and Canada, will be actively involved in this conclave scheduled to take place at the Taj Coromandel in Chennai on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

On April 11, Udhayanidhi made the official announcement during an assembly session about the decision to host Tascon 2023, and an allocation of Rs. 25 lakh was approved for this purpose. 

In April, Udhayanidhi announced the upcoming establishment of three Centers for Sports Science in Madurai, Nilgiris, and Chennai. He also disclosed that they already signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Sri Ramachandra Centre of Sports Science to utilise their facilities for the benefit of sportspersons.

This event is expected to serve as a gathering point for sports scientists, coaches, trainers, athletes, and sports-related policymakers.

The international conclave also has a focus on applying sports science to enhance the performance and overall well-being of athletes. Additionally, its purpose is to facilitate discussions about the future advancement of sports science in Tamil Nadu.

Panel discussions at the conclave will encompass a wide array of topics including sports science, sports medicine and rehabilitation, sports administration and development, franchise leagues, sports biomechanics, sports physiology, nutrition, high-performance sports training, sports technology, and e-sports. 

The event will be broadcast live on the official social media pages of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, including Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook.
