In Amaravati, the state's Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has linked former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and former minister P Narayana to a land scam that included Rs 4,400 crore. According to the chargesheet, Naidu, Narayana, and other individuals planned to create fear of government acquisition through a land pooling scheme in order to purchase 1,100 acres of allotted land from marginalised people at a reduced cost. Despite receiving legal advice against it, the accused allegedly pressured officials to produce a government decree incorporating the allotted lands into the programme.

Alleged financial fraud and illegal land deals
Financial transactions totaling Rs 16.5 crore from educational societies and companies linked to Narayana's family members were allegedly funnelled to real estate middlemen, who facilitated the illegal sale of lands in the name of Narayana's associates. Narayana himself is said to have acquired 162 acres of assigned land, while Naidu's associates reportedly obtained hundreds of acres in the capital city area. The chargesheet also draws attention to inconsistencies in land ownership claims made under the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), with 1,336 people claiming benefits for 946 acres that others already owned, according to 2014 revenue records.
Brahmananda Reddy testifies in the land allotment case
Brahmananda Reddy, a realtor who has been involved in negotiations regarding allocated land, has also requested to testify on behalf of the prosecution in this case. A complicated web of deceit and corruption has been exposed by the CID's investigation, linking well-known people to the misuse of allotted land intended for underprivileged populations. The charge sheet depicts a picture of real estate brokers, politicians, and other officials working together to illegally purchase valuable land while disobeying the law and taking advantage of disadvantaged populations.
As the judicial process progresses, the case highlights the systemic problems of power abuse and corruption in land transactions, emphasising the necessity of accountability and openness in government to stop future scams of this nature.
