Twelve people were hurt when a private bus collided with a pole in the Patlipada region of the Ghodbunder road on Friday.
Yasin Tadvi, the director of Thane Municipal Corporation's Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC), reported that the accident occurred at the Patilpada flyover at about 7 o'clock in the evening.
A representative said that the bus was going to Manpada. On the Patilpada flyover, the driver allegedly lost control.
“It is yet to be ascertained if there was any technical glitch in the bus or the driver lost control or any other reason that led to the mishap,” an official said.
A bystander called the disaster management cell helpline, which eventually informed the neighborhood's police and other organizations about the occurrence. According to the source, MSEDCL staff, the fire brigade, traffic police, and detectives from the Chitalsar police station flocked to the scene to begin the rescue effort.
The officer said that 12 wounded individuals were taken directly to a civil hospital for medical attention.
There was a severe traffic jam on the Ghodbunder road leading to Manpada immediately following the accident. According to the officer, a crane was used to raise the bus and push it beside the road so that vehicles could pass.
The officer continued by saying that because the electric pole was struck by the bus, it is in a hazardous condition and that the affected departments have been instructed to fix it as soon as possible.
The police reported that the Panchnama process is still in progress. After the event, the person driving was not to be found. Up till this point, no FIR has been filed.
