BMW accident drunk driving

The Mumbai Police confirmed on Sunday that a speeding BMW, involved in a collision with a couple on a two-wheeler in Worli, belongs to a political leader from Palghar.

According to Worli Police, the incident involved Mihir Shah, son of Shiv Sena politician Rajesh Shah, and Rajrishi Bidawar, both allegedly in the luxury car at the time. Tragically, the accident claimed the life of 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa from Worli Koliwada, who was riding pillion with her husband. Her husband, injured in the incident near Atria Mall at 5:30 am, is currently hospitalized.

The BMW rammed into the bike of a couple in Worli, dragging the woman on the bonnet of the car for 100 metres leading to her death.

Following the crash, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde offered condolences, promising action against those responsible: "The Mumbai hit-and-run case is very unfortunate. Whoever is guilty will face legal consequences."  Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray visited Worli police station to discuss the case, stating, "I hope the police swiftly apprehend the accused and ensure justice, without political interference. We've assured the victim's husband of our full support in bringing the perpetrator to justice."
