She suggested deploying a United Nations peacekeeping force in order to bring peace to the neighboring country.

Mamata Banerjee condemned the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, insisting that atrocities should not be tolerated at any cost and regardless of caste or religion. She said,

She demanded that there be stronger measures to protect vulnerable communities. The Chief Minister urged India and Bangladesh to hold dialogue with each other, saying that either the Prime Minister or the External Affairs Minister should speak to Bangladeshi authorities about the issues.

The violence in Bangladesh has heightened dramatically since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stepped down following civil unrest. This unrest has led to attacks on Hindu temples and institutions. Banerjee expressed her willingness to assist those affected by violence, stating that if need be, India could repatriate persecuted persons from Bangladesh and ensure them of no scarcity of food. She emphasized the need to maintain harmony and good relations among all communities.
