Supreme Court Decision: Kejriwal's request for temporary bail is scheduled to be the subject of the Supreme Court's decision today (Item no.50).

- Chargesheet Filing: The ED is probably going to file a chargesheet against Kejriwal in accordance with the Supreme Court's decision.

Latest Updates from today's SC Hearing: 
 

- Justice Khanna said stated ; 

''we are passing an interim order...giving him interim bail till 1st June''

adding,  

''On 2nd, he will surrender.''

The Bench grants interim bail until June 1st, with surrender set for June 2nd

Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta expressed his inability to find a precedent for releasing someone for campaigning purposes, stating: 

''I could not find any precedent on person being released for campaigning''

-  However, Justice Khanna indicated that the decision should not be constrained by rigid rules and that they are proceeding with passing the order regardless of the lack of a clear precedent.

''Let's not put it into a simple, straightjacket like that. We are passing the order'' 


This verdict brings relief to Arvind Kejriwal and his party, AAP as they head into the General Elections 2024 with Delhities exercising their voting rights on May 25th 2024. He will likely be in jail on result day ie. June 4th 2024.

- Political Repercussions: Kejriwal's request for temporary bail is expected to be decided by the Supreme Court today. Even if bail were to be granted, Kejriwal would not be able to fulfil his official duties as Chief Minister.

- Legal Team's Reaction: Kejriwal's legal team has expressed doubts regarding the ED's affidavit's validity and its timing in relation to the ultimate ruling.
