An Entire Village Disappeared from Government Records in MP

Can a whole village simply vanish from the face of official records?

Hundreds of tribal farmers in Khargone district, Madhya Pradesh, are fighting back against just such an incident.

Claiming that their village – Dagadkhedi – has been completely removed from government administration files, they’ve staged a massive sit-in protest at the tehsil office.

Despite possessing old land receipts (pavati) and other documentation, these farmers find their lands listed as "government property," raising alarms that a clandestine deal is being made to sell their ancestral land to industrial zones.

Deprived of crop insurance, loans, and the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) because their land "doesn't exist," the tribals have vowed to remain in protest.

They are demanding immediate rectification of the records, warning that their agitation will continue until justice is served.
