The Directorate General of Civil Aviation said a training aircraft crashed Sunday morning in the Pune region of Maharashtra, adding that both the instructor and trainee were safe.
In a brief statement, DGCA said, "The site is 2 miles north of Baramati Airfield. Both the instructor and trainee are safe. DAS (Mumbai) is carrying out further investigation."
Officials claim that the training aircraft went down while conducting exercises close to Gojubavi village in the Pune district of Maharashtra.
An official of the Pune Rural Police said, "A training aircraft crashed during a training session near Gojubavi village in the Pune district. More details are awaited."
