2 Gangsters Who Fired at Disha Patani’s Home Killed in Police Encounter

The chilling incident of armed assailants opening fire outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s family home in Bareilly has shaken both the film industry and law enforcement agencies. What followed was a multi-state police operation that ended in a bloody encounter in Ghaziabad, where two dreaded gangsters were gunned down. This dramatic turn of events has revealed chilling details about the attackers, their gang connections, and the alleged motive behind targeting the Patani family.

The Ghaziabad Encounter: A Joint Operation

On Wednesday evening, the Delhi Police Special Cell, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Haryana STF, tracked down and killed two gangsters—Ravinder from Rohtak and Arun from Sonipat. Both were identified as active members of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, a notorious criminal network with a history of contract killings, extortion, and organized violence across northern India.

The encounter unfolded in Ghaziabad’s Tronica City, where the two gangsters engaged police in a fierce exchange of fire. Over a dozen rounds were fired during the confrontation. According to police reports, Ravinder sustained bullet injuries to his chest, while Arun was shot in the neck and chest. Both succumbed to their injuries during treatment at the hospital.

The shootout not only neutralized two high-profile criminals but also highlighted the high-risk strategies police employed to track them down in record time.

How the Manhunt Began

The chain of events started on September 12 around 3:30 am, when two armed men on a motorcycle fired multiple rounds outside the Patani residence in Bareilly. Soon after, a social media account linked to Goldy Brar’s associates claimed responsibility for the brazen attack.

The firing incident immediately escalated into a multi-state manhunt. According to Pramod Singh Kushwah, Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell):

“In a joint operation of Delhi Police Special Cell, UP STF and Haryana STF, two active criminals of Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar gang were injured in a shoot-out near Tronica City, Ghaziabad…Both accused were directly involved in a firing incident outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s residence in Bareilly.”

This swift collaboration across state borders proved crucial in hunting down the fugitives.

How Cops Tracked the Shooters

Investigators managed to identify Ravinder through CCTV footage captured near the Patani house. His movements, along with that of his associate Arun, were traced through Bareilly and nearby districts using technical surveillance and national crime databases.

A team led by ACP Dharmender Singh and SI Manjeet Singh confirmed on Monday that the duo had reached Ghaziabad. “It was around 4-5 am that the teams found that the accused had finally reached Ghaziabad and were trying to escape. By afternoon, their location was confirmed and a trap was laid near Tronica City,” a Delhi Police officer revealed.

At 7:20 pm, police intercepted the gangsters on a bike and ordered them to surrender. Instead, the criminals opened fire, injuring a police officer and damaging a vehicle. The retaliatory fire left both gangsters fatally wounded.

Why Was Disha Patani’s House Targeted?

The big question remained—why was an actress’s home chosen as a target by such a dreaded gang?

According to STF officials, the gang had been monitoring the Patani residence for weeks with the intent of extorting money from the family. Waseem Akram, SP of Haryana STF, confirmed their involvement:

“We had confirmed inputs that the duo was involved in the September 12 firing incident in Bareilly. When they were caught on a road near Tronica City, they started firing. The police retaliated and held them. They were rushed to a nearby hospital but had died.”

Who Were the Shooters—Ravindra and Arun?

The assailants were identified as Ravindra alias Kallu from Rohtak and Arun from Sonipat. Both had extensive criminal records and were wanted in multiple cases, including murder, attempted murder, and gang rivalries.

Ravinder was already wanted in a 2024 Fatehabad court firing case. He was also part of a September 5 gang war in Bhiwani, where attackers shot at a man named Luvjeet outside a court.

Their deaths mark a significant blow to the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar syndicate, which has been attempting to expand its influence through extortion rackets and violent intimidation.

How the Attack on Patani’s Home Happened

According to the FIR, the primary target of the attack was Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Patani, a retired police officer.

  • On September 12 at 3:30 am, Jagdish was alerted by his dogs barking.

  • When he stepped out onto his balcony, he saw two men on a motorbike.

  • On questioning them, one of the shooters chillingly said, “Kill him,” before opening fire.

Patani narrowly escaped by taking cover behind a pillar on the balcony. The assailants fired several rounds, including two aerial shots, before fleeing.

This attack was not just an intimidation attempt—it was a near-fatal assault on a former law enforcement officer and the father of a Bollywood star.

The Encounter: A Fierce Gunfight

The operation to catch the shooters culminated in a deadly gunfight at Tronica City. Police later revealed that the assailants continued firing until they were overpowered.

The gunfight left four police officers injured:

  • SI Rohit suffered a bullet wound in his left hand.

  • HC Kailash sustained a gunshot injury to his right arm.

  • STF head constables Ankur and Jai were also injured in the exchange.

Recovered from the encounter site were:

  • A stolen Apache motorbike (the same used in the Bareilly attack).

  • A Zigana pistol.

  • A Glock Gen 5 pistol.

  • Several live cartridges.

These recoveries not only provided evidence but also linked the duo directly to the Bareilly firing.

The Motive: A Mix of Extortion and Ideological Grievances

Shortly after the Bareilly firing, a social media account linked to the Goldy Brar gang claimed responsibility, stating that the attack was in retaliation for the Patani family’s alleged insult to Sanatana Dharma.

The controversy centered around Khushboo Patani, Disha’s elder sister, who had publicly criticized Aniruddhacharya Maharaj, a self-styled preacher. In a video, the preacher had claimed that women over 25 in live-in relationships “go from one man to another.”

Khushboo strongly condemned these remarks, calling them misogynistic and hypocritical. She said:

“He says girls who are above the age of 25 and stay in live-in relationships, woh 4 jagah mooh maar ke aati hai (they go from one person to another). If only he had been around me, I would have made him understand the meaning of the words he used against women. They are anti-national. You should never support b****** of the highest orders.”

This triggered outrage among followers of the preacher, which the Goldy Brar gang allegedly exploited to justify the firing.

Political and Administrative Response

The shocking attack prompted swift intervention from the highest levels of government. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally called Jagdish Patani and assured him that the case would be solved quickly.

The Bareilly police registered a case immediately, and security at the Patani residence was significantly heightened until the attackers were neutralized.

A Breakthrough Against the Gang Network

The elimination of Ravinder and Arun is being seen as a major breakthrough against the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, which has been attempting to expand its extortion rackets into Uttar Pradesh.

While the immediate threat to the Patani family has been neutralized, police believe this gang may attempt further retaliatory actions. Investigations are ongoing to identify other members involved in planning and executing the Bareilly attack.

Final Thoughts

The attack on Disha Patani’s home is a stark reminder of how Bollywood celebrities and their families are increasingly being targeted by organized gangs seeking extortion money or exploiting ideological controversies for influence.

The joint operation by the Delhi Police Special Cell, UP STF, and Haryana STF that led to the elimination of Ravinder and Arun showcased the efficiency of coordinated policing. But it also highlighted the growing brazenness of criminal gangs in northern India.

For now, the Patani family may breathe a sigh of relief, but the episode has left an enduring reminder of the fragile line between glamour and danger—and how deep-rooted criminal networks continue to pose threats far beyond their traditional strongholds.
