Mr. Rohit Dhingra, a product management graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, has an experience of 10 years in the e-commerce business. He started his career with Amazon in India and worked with various brands in India and the USA. Two years ago, he started his own e-commerce company, Green Soul E-commerce Pvt. Ltd., in Gurgaon, Haryana, to provide services to e-commerce sellers who want to launch their brands in India or outside India.
Under the brand umbrella, Mr. Rohit Dhingra launched two franchises: Green Soul Services and Green Soul Academy. Green Soul Services provide services to brand owners, SMEs, and manufacturers who want to sell their products on Amazon, Flipkart, Amazon.com, Walmart, etc., if they want to sell overseas. Green Soul Academy provides e-commerce training to students, entrepreneurs, and owners of brands. It's an online course for those opening a physical shop or doing business online.
Mr. Rohit Dhingra's goal was to start his own business because he had a decade of niche experience in e-commerce. He noticed that there are people and businesses that don’t know how to sell on Amazon or other marketplaces or build a brand on these platforms. To solve this problem, he started his business. Mr. Dhingra believes that they can provide good services to brand owners and businesses to help them grow.
As a founder, Mr. Dhingra faced everyday pleasures and pains. Building a team from scratch was a challenging task, and they trained many students who are now working with them after one and a half years. To stay ahead of other service providers/agencies in the market, they need to provide value to the person/business. Sometimes, many businesses don't understand the up-front charging process and want to see results first and then pay. Consistency is the key to gaining trust and building a good reputation.
Mr. Rohit Dhingra's strength lies in the connections that he built during his decade-long experience in the industry. He can get businesses easily because they know he can add value to their businesses. He is now building his own team, which will take time, but a good team will help them achieve their goals.
Mr. Dhingra's family and friends support him in his business. His wife is his strength, giving him positive energy to achieve everything. She is always optimistic and encourages him in his business. His kids give him that positive energy to keep going.
Looking back, Mr. Dhingra wished he had mentorship on how to run a business. He advises budding entrepreneurs to create a plan first and make a pros and cons list. If they are salaried or in any job and wish to start a business, they shouldn't quit their job first. It’s better to plan and have a checklist. They should validate their idea by checking whether or not their business idea is good. If they provide services, they should check with one or more clients whether their service is good. If they are selling any goods, they should check if customers are accepting those goods or not.
According to Mr. Dhingra, the key skill every entrepreneur should have is not to give up because startups have no salaries. They have to be very patient with their customers, validate their idea, and check the pros and cons. If they think that they are especially good in any field/hobby and have been doing it for five years or ten years, they should go for it and have patience.
He was emotionally attached to his mission and wanted every youngster pursuing their business idea or job to choose a good skilled path. He wanted them to realize that it was their journey, their path, and they had to build their career by following their passions. He believed that even if they failed, they would not regret it because they would have tried and learned from their experiences.
Mr. Dhingra's brand, Green Soul, was dedicated to empowering budding entrepreneurs with the skills they needed to succeed. He hoped that his efforts would inspire the youth to follow their passions, choose wisely, and never be influenced by others. Mr. Dhingra was determined to positively impact society and create a generation of super entrepreneurs who would change the world.
