Charan Singh had always been passionate about entrepreneurship. Even while pursuing his Mechanical Engineering degree, he always had an eye for innovative ideas that could be turned into profitable ventures. However, due to his financial condition and lack of knowledge, he never dared to take the plunge.
It wasn't until 2015 when Charan came up with the idea for VEHK. He realized that there was a massive gap in the automobile sector in terms of providing prompt and efficient services to people in emergency breakdowns or accidents. He started working on the idea and developed an app for the same, but due to his circumstances, he had to postpone his plan.
He then decided to join the Merchant Navy, hoping to learn and explore new things. And his experience there gave him the insights that he needed to take his idea forward. He saw that the problems he faced while sailing were still prevalent today. And that's when he realized that it was the right time to start his own venture.
After a few years of freelancing and odd jobs, Charan decided to take the leap and start VEHK. With his mechanical engineering background and a PG Diploma in Management, he had the skills to make his dream a reality.
Charan built a team of six members and started offering services that connected customers to nearby garages and service sectors that VEHK had partnered with. The idea was to provide a one-stop solution to all automobile-related issues. The company aimed to build an ecosystem for everyone, including vehicle purchases, insurance, claims, and reselling.
However, starting a business is not an easy task, and Charan had his share of daily pleasures and pains. The pleasure he derived from working on his vision and meeting new people made him happy. But, he also experienced the pain of not being able to complete the tasks he had set for himself, facing rejection and failures.
Despite these challenges, Charan's analytical skills and ability to see the bigger picture helped him build an ecosystem for the entire automobile sector. But, his weakness lay in taking rejections and failures to heart, which he needed to work on.
At first, Charan's family resisted his plan to start a business. However, once they saw his dedication and the growth of the company, they started to support him.
Reflecting on his journey, Charan wishes he had someone to guide him in financial planning before he started. It is essential to have a strong financial plan and learn how to delegate tasks from the beginning. Good research and understanding the market's pattern are crucial, as is facing failures and rejections with strength.
Charan advises to build a strong network and seek advice from people in the industry who can help you grow and develop the skills.
Despite the challenges, Charan remains focused on his vision. He hopes to build VEHK into a leading player in the automobile sector, offering a one-stop solution to customers. His passion for entrepreneurship and his ability to innovate will continue to drive him forward, making VEHK a success story in the years to come.
