Rohit Kumar is a man with a passion for travel and adventure. After obtaining a Master's degree from Alliance University in Bengaluru, he found himself eager to explore the world around him. This led him to start his own travel company, Chasing Sunsets, which specialized in organizing road trips across India. Rohit was motivated to start this company due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which made people more appreciative of the beauty of nature and the importance of travel.
Chasing Sunsets offers trips for every type of traveller, from those seeking a calm, relaxed experience to those seeking thrills and danger. The trips cater to all age groups, from 2 years old to 75 years and beyond, with no restrictions on age as long as the person is a traveller at heart. The trips last anywhere from 1 day to 22 days, allowing travellers enough time to explore, relax, and fully immerse themselves in the local culture and cuisine. For example, on trips to Himachal Pradesh, Chasing Sunsets organizes traditional Himachal food and dances for travellers.
Rohit's love for travel stems from his childhood. He was raised by a father who is also a passionate traveller and caught the travel bug at a young age. He is even the youngest biker to travel to Ladakh, an achievement he is proud of to this day. For Rohit, travel is not just a leisure activity, but an emotion. He believes that people travel for different reasons, whether it be out of love, to overcome something, or to express something. He believes that travel connects people to nature, others, and themselves, helping them grow as individuals.
When Rohit first started Chasing Sunsets, he was the only person involved in the company. However, as it grew, he was joined by two other members and a team of volunteers who lead the road trips on weekends. Most of the volunteers are close friends of Rohit who are happy to lead the trips and have their costs covered by the company. Rohit himself loves meeting new people and finds it easy to travel and lead trips with travellers. The most important thing for him is to keep the travellers energized and engaged throughout the trip so that they do not get tired during or after the trip.
Chasing Sunsets encourages travellers to bring their cars, as it is safer and more comfortable. Rohit and his friends are responsible travellers and take great care to protect nature and the environment during their trips. Rohit's dream travel destinations include Iceland, South Africa, and Australia, as he has a love for cold places. The name Chasing Sunsets and the logo were carefully chosen to reflect the company's focus on nature, including every shade of the sun and a bit of water. It took Rohit and his team two months to come up with the name, as they wanted it to be perfect. The name reflects the fact that most of their road trips start early in the morning and end before sunset, with the travellers watching the sunset at the endpoint.
Rohit's youngest traveller is his son, who he is proud to say is also a great traveller. He loves taking his son on trips on weekends, and his sons' love for travel has only furthered Rohits' love for the activity. With Chasing Sunsets, Rohit hopes to share his passion for travel and the beauty of nature with as many people as possible. He aims to keep growing the company and expanding it to international destinations, offering travellers unforgettable experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.
