"Fest-O-Comm" is a two days event organised by Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication on 3rd and 4th February 2023, 10am - 11pm. Standing on the hilltop amidst the scenic beauty of Pune, SIMC is a clique of media and communication enthusiasts, explorers, and dreamers. As one of the top 3 media and communication colleges in the country, the institute always aims to accelerate the media and communication industry by bringing passionate individuals and holistic education together.
Fest-O-Comm was powered by Palak Tapes, with Tales and Spirits serving as the event's title sponsor. Other notable associate sponsors included EaseMyTrip, Plum, Taco Bell, Nexus Westend Mall, Career Launcher, SkillBox, and more. TribeVibe served as the event's entertainment partner, and Campus Times Pune and VYGR served as its media partners.
Three different competitions were held in the business, sports, and cultural categories. Every event was exciting and energising in its own special way. Fest-O-Comm was inaugurated with a motivational panel discussion by renowned influencers and artists who had made their mark in the digital arena.
The versatility and vitality of its events, which included a wide range of cultural events like dance, music, drama, fashion, and rap, sports events like Lagori, football, badminton, and German Circuit, and business events like Bra(i)nd Freeze, OTT Shark, Decode-Recode, and Tug and Tackle, were what made Fest-O-Comm so special. The fest attracted participants from colleges across the city and state, with performances in different genres. The cultural events included an Open mic, Battle of Bands, Glamour gala, Street Dance, Rap battle, and Dance Pe Chance, with industry judges such as Taaruk Raina, The Holy Culprit, and Charlie, who elevated the fest with their judging and special performances. These events provided a platform for students to showcase their talent and prove their caliber.
Some of the most well-known musicians and bands with a national following performed live throughout the Pro nights at Fest-O-Comm. Star-studded performances by Taaruk Raina, Samay Raina's stand-up comedy, and a concert by the Anand Bhaskar Collective capped out the initial day. The well-known Zaeden gave a standout performance on the second day.
Fest-O-Comm provides a platform for students to showcase their creative and innovative ideas, develop and foster relationships with professionals in their respective fields, and gain valuable insight into the industry.
Overall, the festival was a great success that was appreciated by students from SIMC and other colleges. Future batches will look forward to cherishing it since it will be remembered as an unforgettable experience.
