Indian Army hosts Gulmarg Festival to boost tourism, promote local talent

Jammu and Kashmir is a region of breathtaking beauty and rich culture. In a recent initiative, the Indian Army collaborated with civil agencies to organize festivals that showcase the best of what the region has to offer.

The festival was held from September 9-10, 2023, at the Ice Skating Rink near the Gondola Base in Gulmarg. The festival featured a diverse range of activities, including music, dance, fashion shows, and traditional Kashmiri arts and crafts. Bollywood sensation Vicky Kaushal was the star attraction, and his presence helped to make the festival a truly memorable event. 

The Gulmarg Festival 2023 was held with the aim of providing further impetus to the tourism sector of Jammu and Kashmir by projecting the region as an all-weather tourist destination. The event showcased a wide range of local talent and sports activities, including musical performances by renowned local artists. adventurous and thrill-seeking events and activities like  Hot Air Balloon display, Hiking, Zip Line, Zorbing Ball, Bubble Soccer, Horse and pony Race and Cycling Marathon were also conducted. 

The festival was a huge success, with thousands of tourists from all over the world attending. The event was also attended by Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, Chinar Corps Cdr, who said that the Gulmarg Festival is a unique grand show and the proper portrayal of Gulmarg as an important tourist destination in the tourism landscape of the world.

The festival was a major milestone in promoting the tourism avenues of Jammu and Kashmir. The event was meticulously conducted and received overwhelming support from tourists and local residents. The festival is expected to boost tourism in the region and attract more visitors from all over the world. 

The Bangus Adventure Festival: The Bangus Adventure Festival was held on September 10th, 2023, in the Kupwara district of North Kashmir. It also featured cultural events and games, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to experience the culture and beauty of the region. The festival offered a variety of adventure activities, such as paragliding, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, and ATV rides.
