It sounds like the 11th annual International Film Festival, CortoKino, organised by Thakur College's BAMMC and FTNMP departments, was a huge success. With the theme of "Unleashing Global Cinema," the festival provided a platform for artists to showcase their talents in various fields such as dance, fashion shows, poetry, and drama. The festival also included competitions in journalism, short films, storyboarding, public relations, background music, photography, commercials, and more.
The festival took place between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. and featured a wide range of short films from different countries and cultures, exploring a diverse range of themes and genres. CortoKino provided a platform for emerging filmmakers to showcase their work to a large and diverse audience, while also providing a space for established filmmakers to network and share their experiences with the next generation of filmmakers.
It's great to see sponsors like Dubai Energy Drink, FACE Academy, Penthouzz, Nexstar, Colorplay, KababiNation, Netriks Joint, Food Adda, Robin’s Bake House, Akkad Bakkad Bombay Boo, Al-Lazeez Biryani, and Frameboxx 2.0 supporting the festival and providing opportunities for artists beyond the borders of the country.
Overall, it seems like the CortoKino International Film Festival was a fantastic event that celebrated the diverse and underrated talents of artists.
The event played out simply through the desire of film enthusiasts and aspirants, as it spanned a preparation time of 3 months. With various workshops and PR activities bringing communication, connection, and support to the artists who plan to record and show their masterpieces on the big screen, the fest was a catalyst for the opportunities demanded by the underrated talent of artists even beyond the borders of our country.
More than 15 participating contingents, 20+ esteemed judges at the top of their fields, and the creatively dynamic mindsets of filmmakers attending the event—all of it played a significant role in making it an "international" fest. Fashionistas like the Sanghavi Family, dancers like Aryan Patra and Manan Sachdeva, filmmakers like Ashwin Kaushal, Sandeep Singh, Dikshant Sharma, Sanjiv Chaddha, Ravi Jadhav, and Jay Bhansali, and creators like Khushaal Pawar, Shehzaad Roshan, and Vaishnavi Dukhande and the list of attendees goes on.
Many colleges took away the trophies glistening off their efforts and hard work, with the holistic winners being Contingent Code Rockstar from KES College, Aashiqui 2 from KC College, and Om Shaanti Om from Birla College. The special highlight, a new addition to the accomplishments offered by them, was awarded to Aashiqui 2 for their exceptional participation and endeavours in presenting high-quality and well-thought-out short films. Overall, the fest CortoKino- "Unleashing Global Cinema," was a huge hit!
