ASSOCHAM Goa State Council in partnership with Goa State Innovation Council and Global Intellectual Property Alliance India (a non-profit organisation) organised a series of Knowledge workshops across schools and colleges in Goa. The knowledge workshops were on the topic "Invention and Intellectual Property Education for Future Entrepreneurs".
The knowledge workshops were led by Advocate Dr. Shraddha Damle, Co-chair of GLIPA India School and College IP Education Committee and Raghvendra Bhat, Board Member of GLIPA India and Pranay Prabhu Gaonkar, Secretary GLPA India. GLIPA is an organisation which has a 20-year history from Georgia United States and have over 150 elite members in India. GLIPA India focus is to empower Intellectual Property to Advance Society by raising awareness on importance of Intellectual Property amount citizens of this country. The knowledge series focused on creating a belief of innovation and Entrepreneurship rather than purely employment at early age among students.
The participants were from the 7th, 8th and 9th Standard in schools and 2nd and 3rd year students from Engineering College. The following Schools and Colleges participated:
1) St. Joseph Institute, Vasco
2) New Educational Institute, Curchorem
3) St. Xavier's Institute, Curtorim
4) Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna
5) Shri Nirakar Vidyalaya, Mashem
6) Shri Shradhanand Vidyalaya
Shri Pranay Prabhu Gaonkar, Secretary of GLIPA India mentions "In India, 70% of the citizens are in the age group of 10 to 25 years. These creative minds have capability to make India truly #Atmanirbhar in years to come. We are here to unlock mindset of employment to entrepreneurship through their own Intellectual property and ability create innovative products to advance society. At the end of workshop, students said they got confidence that they can innovate and launch products using their Intellectual minds."
