Khatron Ke Khiladi and other such scripted shows we know are fixed and yet we love

There is a huge variety when it comes to the type of content or media that is offered to the public but what decides the TRP or the interest of the audience? Why does it happen that the public prefers scripted shows over documentaries or educational shows? If we consider the making and the efforts required to produce a show from scratch, it can not be denied that every media content requires strenuous efforts to be executed as beautifully as it has been thought out.

But here are some of the shows we know are scripted and YET, simply cannot stop ourselves from being addicted to them:

Khatron Ke Khiladi

KHATRON KE KHILADI SEASON 12

The viewers of this show analyze the what-ifs. Many love to scrutinize and many love to appreciate. What keeps this show going is that the audience experiences the beauty and landscapes of different countries and feels the adrenaline rush of imagining the stunts and the risks.

Roadies

Even though there have been many instances of serious racism and violence, the audience keeps going back to it. Why? With the very initial seasons, the audience slowly started disapproving of the judges but since the reins were given to Ranvijay Singh, the audience started having a glimmer of hope for the show. Multiple seasons passed and it was evident that the audience started loving the show. With truly mind-boggling setups and extremely creative games- the makers had the audience with them but recently, the quality of the show has been degrading with the bias and comments passed by the judges. What factors kept the audience from not rejecting the show? The personalities of the judges remain constant but the contestants and challenges keep changing. Each season ensures to bring extremely talented people and display their journey of growing beyond what they are. The audience loves to watch this progression as it unfolds. The audience believes that the show’s concept has changed drastically in the last few years and it has become critically mediocre and toxic- Roadies would need to bring back its earlier thrill to have any chances of revival.

The show revolves around the survival of contestants in a house with others where they are assigned certain tasks to be tested on their mental and physical capabilities. When a show that completely relies on talent is scripted, it becomes a question of whether or not, it would be successful. What keeps the show steering is the fuel of a complete craze for dance, entertainment, and culture in the audience. With a big name like Madhuri Dixit associated with the show, the audience is attracted to a show that has dance performances critically analyzed by the judges and introduces new concepts and dance forms by bringing them onto a platform. The show sells because of its energy, Masti, and glamour. With extravagant sets complemented by an established host in the field- the casual atmosphere after extremely brilliant performances is the driving factor.
