In order to pursue education in the United States, student visas can now be issued a year in advance. Indian students who wish to study in the USA can now obtain visas up to 365 days beforehand.
This Monday, the US Bureau of Consular Affairs announced that the new rule applies to student visas in the F and M categories.
F and M student visas can now be awarded up to 365 days before the I-20 program start date, giving students additional time to apply for a visa, the organization announced in a tweet. More than 30 days before the commencement of their program, students are still not permitted to enter the country on a student visa.
Even students with advanced visas will not be permitted entry into the United States 30 minutes prior to the start of their academic session.
