AI, Coding, Finance Literacy - part of CBSE curriculum from standard 6th

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) seems to aim for lower-class students to become knowledgeable in fields like coding and artificial intelligence (AI). It has written a circular to school administrators warning them of the upcoming introduction of new subjects for students in classes VI and VIII as well.

It is important to note that up until now, such skill-based courses were only open to students who had completed class XI. However, the most recent circular will change this and will enable kids in lower classes to master new talents. Over 33 subjects, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Financial Literacy, Coding, Data Science, Augmented Reality (AR), Kashmiri Embroidery, Application of Studies, and Mass Media - Being Media Literate, have been included by CBSE.

CBSE said in a circular that has been sent to the school heads, "The National Education Policy 2020 has given lots of emphasis on promoting Skill education in schools. This policy aims to overcome the social status hierarchy associated with vocational education and requires integration of vocational education programs into mainstream education in all educational institutions in a phased manner."

"Beginning with vocational exposure at early ages in middle and secondary school, quality vocational education will be integrated smoothly into higher education," it added.

The most recent action was taken to advance skill education in the nation. For the benefit of students, CBSE strives to fully integrate vocational education courses into mainstream education in order to overcome the social status hierarchy associated with vocational education.

Additionally, according to the circular sent by CBSE, "No fee is to be paid by the affiliated schools to CBSE for introducing any Skill Module." It goes on to say that in order to help kids master skill modules, schools should promote "bagless days," vacation time, summer camps, or activity times because people learn better in real-world situations than they do in a classroom.

According to reports, the schools have been instructed to devote 70% of their time to these skills and 30% to theory. The duration of the aforementioned skill subjects will be anywhere from 12 to 15 hours. It's interesting to note that Microsoft itself will create the coding curriculum.
