Ankur Jain, CEO of Bira 91 and Rahul Singh, CEO of Beer café announced this significant acquisition on Wednesday 12th October 2022. This deal is beneficial to both parties as Bira 91 will get a retail presence in the pub chain’s 33 outlets, while The Beer Cafe will get the company’s support in innovations and supply chain, quoted a report in The Economic Times.

 BIRA ACQUIRES BEER CAFE

After this power-packed deal, Rahul Singh, the CEO of Beer Café will lead the operations team of Beer Café. Also, he will be in charge of the Bira 91 Restaurant division. However, the investors and venture capitalists Mayfield, Granite Hill and Bineeta Singh of Beer Café will receive the stock of Bira 91, as per the deal.

Premium beer manufacturer Bira 91 started in 2015 operated by a dynamic team of 550 employees, and passionate brewers supported by Sequoia Capital India, Sofina of Belgium and Kirin Holding of Japan. Bira 91 is spreading in over 500 towns and cities across 15 countries including four breweries in India. The Beer Café journey started in April 2012 when there was no alco- beverage chain in India. The CEO Rahul Singh started this company after keeping his house mortgaged for the business funds. Currently, there are over 35+ Beer Cafés in India.

Both Bira 91 and The Beer Café are coming up with the same attention to better the beer experience in the country and with this acquisition, the two companies aim to mobilize the growth of beer culture in India, Ankur Jain, founder, and CEO stated. “Having known Singh for several years now and seeing his journey closely, I am confident that he will continue to work towards taking the beer culture deeper in the country and scale our restaurant vertical to new heights,”.

On the other hand, the CEO of The Beer Café expressed his excitement and said, “We are thrilled to have found a partner in Bira 91 to proffer the beer culture in India. The Beer Café has a strong consumer base that is loyal and passionate towards the brand. We have a strong operating module and by leveraging on the strengths of Bira 91 we will be able to enhance consumer experience and take the brand to newer heights. The neutrality of The Beer Café brand offering the most variety of beer remains intact”.

Now the future of this springlike, zippy beverage depends on the two beer wizards Rahul Singh and Ankur Jain who started their brewing journey from the scratch. Bira 91 and The Beer Café together will take the business of manufacturing premium beers worldwide and bring us a fresh earthy pint of beer. Cheers to them!
