Bikanervala chairman, Kedarnath Aggarwal, passes away at 86

Lala Kedarnath Aggarwal, who founded the snack and sweets brand Bikanervala, passed away at 86 on Monday.

He started his inspiring journey as a street vendor in old Delhi, selling bhujia and rasgullas in buckets.

The passing of Aggarwal, also called Kakaji, "marked the end of an era that has enriched palates and touched countless lives," stated Bikanervala. The company is present in the United States, Nepal, Singapore, New Zealand, and the UAE, and it has over 60 stores in India.

"Kakaji's departure is not just a loss to Bikanervala; it's a void in the culinary landscape. His vision and leadership will forever guide our culinary journey," said Shyam Sunder Aggarwal, Managing Director.

"As we bid farewell to a legend, we carry forward his legacy with a deep sense of responsibility. Bikanervala will continue to be a reflection of his values – a place where every dish tells a story and every customer is part of our extended family," said Radhey Mohan Aggarwal, Director of Bikanervala Group and eldest son of Kakaji.

Entrepreneur Kedarnath Aggarwal, originating from Bikaner, began his venture in Delhi during the early 50s. Alongside his brother Satyanarayan Aggarwal, he introduced the family's traditional sweets and snacks to Delhi. Starting with humble street sales in old Delhi, initially, both struggled with carrying buckets filled with bhujia and rasgulla. Still, their hard work and unique Bikaneri flavours paved the way and gained widespread recognition over time.

The Aggarwal brothers later established Bikanervala in Chandini Chowk, renowned for delicacies like Moong Dal Halwa and Bikaneri Bhujia.
