India is set to build its first fully Made-in-India luxury electric SUV.
Tata Motors–owned Jaguar Land Rover has announced a ₹9,000 crore manufacturing project in Tamil Nadu, spread across 471 acres.
The facility will produce up to 2.5 lakh vehicles annually and run entirely on green energy, covering both EVs and ICE models.
This marks full-scale manufacturing, not just assembly, and is expected to reduce waiting periods and make luxury cars more competitively priced.
The plant was inaugurated in the presence of Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran.
