GM, General Motors Co., a US-based company known for manufacturing, designing and selling vehicles and automobile parts, is now entering the Electric Vehicle field with its brand new Chevrolet Silverado work truck. Its production will start from May month only, announced on Friday, 19 May.
GM took a lot of time to enter the EV market because of battery plants and checking of new vehicle. But even after it got late, the company had established its position as an EV work truck seller.
The company has decided to produce a low number of these work trucks for specific buyers. It will provide a runover of 450mils in a single charge, while it will reduce its price for retail users, it will be around $40,000 and will run for 350 miles in a charge.
GM already has its own EV but it's in limited production, with high prices and targeting at specific groups.
