Dubai is known for having the tallest building in the world, Bhuj Khalifa, but from now onwards it is also going to be known as the first city to travel by flying car. Recently, Chinese EV manufacturer Xpeng Inc has chosen United Arab Emirates (UAE) to showcase the world’s first flying car, Xpeng X2. It is a great way of avoiding traffic. Isn’t it?
Xpeng Motors has founded in 2014. It is the fastest-growing all-electric vehicle and technology company that develops automobiles and works under advanced AI( Artificial Intelligence). The Xpeng X2 is a fifth-generation multi-copter aircraft which has 2 passenger seats. It is a driver-free ride at a speed of 130kp/h(81mph) altogether making it 35 minutes flying journey. China-based fifth-generation eVTOL multi-copter weighs 360kg (794lb Empty Weight) along with carbon fibre composite in the fuselage and fixed skid landing. Xpeng X2 also have a DEP safety feature which means it has multiple propellers and motors. If one or two propellers or motors fail, still Xpeng X2 flying car can land its passenger safely. It also has a ballistic parachute.
Monday 10th October 2022 a 90-minute test flight was conducted by its manufacturer as an “Important base for the next generation of flying cars.” Moreover, 8 propellers provide lift so it can take off and land vertically. The vehicle made its first public test flight in front of nearly 150 people. The futuristic 2 seaters provide autonomous flight capabilities.
The general manager of Xpeng Aeroht, Qiu Minguan stated, “We are now in the research process and making step-by-step progress in the International market. First, we selected Dubai because it is the most innovative city in the world. He also mentioned that the next generation of flying cars will include a model with wheels.
Xpeng X2 ultramodern flying car can carry two passengers at a time. Well, this is also not the first flying car made. many were made before this, however, only a handful have been successfully tested with passengers on board. EV manufacturer Xpeng Inc, also expressed that the two-seater Xpeng X2 flying car will be best possible only for short-distance city journeys and future low-altitude city lights.
