Fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi has been arrested in Belgium on April 12, 2025, following a request from Indian agencies — the CBI and ED. Choksi, a prime accused in the massive ₹13,500 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam, is directly linked to fraud worth ₹6,000 crore. Owner of Gitanjali Gems, Choksi fled India and settled in Antigua, but now authorities have caught up with him. He even secured an 'F Residency Card' in Belgium, allegedly using misleading documents. Despite his lawyers claiming health issues, Indian officials argue that if he can travel to Belgium for treatment, he can be brought back to face justice in India. Will Choksi finally be extradited?
