Mumbai locals could soon run underground.🤞🏻
Railway authorities are exploring underground suburban train routes to tackle peak hour congestion on the city's busiest corridors Churchgate to Virar and CSMT to Kalyan.
Every Mumbaikar knows the morning struggle, crowded platforms and packed trains with barely any breathing space.
With surface expansion becoming difficult authorities are now looking below the city for answers.
The plan is still at the feasibility stage but the focus remains on the two busiest corridors.
If approved the underground network would reduce overcrowding and cut down travel time significantly.
This means Mumbai might soon have local trains running both above and below the city surface, changing daily commutes forever.
