According to reports, Google will unveil its new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones, as well as new wearables, on October 4. A well-known tipster has leaked the key specifications of the Pixel 8 series ahead of the launch, giving smartphone enthusiasts a good idea of what to expect.
According to a new leak, the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are expected to run on a Tensor Gen3 SoC, have 10.5 megapixels selfie shooters, and have an IP68 waterproof build. The new leak corroborates earlier leaks.
The Pixel 8 is expected to come with a 6.22-inch screen, while the 8 Pro is expected to have a larger screen of 6.7 inches.

The leak was made by Known tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) who posted a comparative promo chart on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). The post suggested that the Pixel 8 series will share some similarities with its predecessors, the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7a, and will be powered by the new Tensor Gen3 chip.
It is expected that the Pixel 8 features a 6.2-inch Actua display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the pro model is said to get a 6.7-inch Super Actua screen with 120Hz refresh rate. The vanilla model is reported to carry a dual rear camera unit, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with autofocus, and offer up to 8x SuperRes zoom and thin contrast e Pixel 8 Pro will have triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 48-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. It is tipped that both models are said to get a new 10.5-megapixel front camera sensor.
According to tech reports, Google's Pixel 8 series is said to offer fast charging capabilities and to offer up to 24 hours of battery life with a single charge. They will provide both in-display fingerprint sensors and support for face unlock, allowing for secure biometric authentication.
The Pixel 8 series is set to be announced at 10:00 a.m. ET (7:30 pm GMT) on October 4, and the Pixel Watch 2 is expected to make its debut at the same time. during the ‘Made by Google' event.
