With the comfort of technology, we are getting everything at home in just a click. The same goes with food. There are multiple apps which provide food delivery. Swiggy and Zomato are very well known amongst them. Now Swiggy and Zomato are authorised by people and people are so used to it that they can easily rely on these apps. But a new competitor has entered the market and is getting popular day by day. ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) is a new food delivery platform which offers services at a cheap price. Government backed ONDC is not a newly launched platform. It came in September 2022, but recently it marked the achievement of receiving 10,000 orders in a day and slowly people are getting to know about this. ONDC allows restaurants to directly reach customers without any interference from third parties.
Many people used ONDC and compared the prices of food items on it and Zomato and Swiggy. They found ONDC much cheaper and had great service. Still, people find it difficult to trust ONDC and thus it's not getting the reach it should get. In the initial days, it was only available in Bengaluru and then gradually spread its network within other cities.
If one wants to use ONDC to order, one can simply go to Paytm and search for ONDC in the search bar. ONDC not only delivers food but also delivers a variety of items like electronics, furniture and so on. This is an open network of businesses where any business can sell their service to customers directly.
Government support of ONDC may help it to reach out to more and more businesses as well as customers.
